Many years ago, Suwimon, known as Mon to her family and friends, lived with her two grandmas, an uncle and aunt, and a cousin. Both grandmas were living with chronic health issues, which prevented them from working. Her cousin has been handicapped since birth. Both her uncle and aunt had day jobs. They were the sole bread earners for this family of six. Mon made good grades at school while helping her bedridden grandma and handicapped cousin.
This was Mon’s life six years ago. Between her school work and helping out her family, she dreamt of becoming a nurse. This was the first thing she shared with George and Pat, her American sponsors, when they came to visit her for the first time. They continued to visit her yearly and realized she had the determination and commitment to her studies that would help her be successful in college. With this realization, they agreed to pay for nursing college.
Her dream will soon become a reality when she receives her two year degree that qualifies her as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She will continue her education at Payap University Nursing School to receive her Bachelors of Nursing (RN).
